TEHRAN (IQNA) – A passenger launched into a vile rant after a Muslim commuter was quietly performing his morning prayers on the London Underground.

Passenger on London Tube

Shocking footage shows the moment that the man said “this is a Christian country” before adding “you behave in the way that we do things”.

The horrified passenger posted the video online, claiming that he was not talking loud when performing his prayers.

He claims that he was on the tube at around 6.40am on Saturday morning when the man in the video started to shout at him.

The passenger who launched into the vile rant can be seen pointing and shouting at the man while sat opposite him.

He yelled: “You're not going to do it on public transport where I'm sitting. I was here you do not even have the decency to ask me if you can do it.

“You need my permission to invade my privacy and my space. Your noise that you make travels.

“I do have an issue with it, can you see anybody else here of any other faith sitting there doing their morning prayers? No, you know why because they respect other people.

“That's your problem. You have no respect for other people.”

The commuter can then be heard telling him to “act his age” and that “children shout”, adding that no one else seems to have a problem with him.

But the passenger continued his tirade, shouting: “I'm telling you what you are doing is invading other people's space.

“No one wants to tell you to stop because they are too careful because oh my god, can’t touch a Muslim.

“Let me tell you something, this is a Christian country. You behave in our manners and the way that we do things.”

Posting the footage online he said: “I was reciting the Quran softly and quietly enough where I could hear myself.

“This passenger opposite me had an issue with me reading the Quran in a public space.

“Nobody seemed bothered but him. I told him to move if he was that pressed or to shut up, but he did neither.

“I genuinely don’t think me reciting the Quran out loud was the problem, I believe that was an excuse to express his feelings and get me to STOP reading the Quran because he believes, ‘we shouldn’t be allowed to read our prayers on TfL’.

“I’m calm and collected Alhamdulillah but I think his ideology and actions can have a huge effect on others.

“I hope he realizes his mistakes and changes his ways. May Allah guide him to the right path. Ameen.”

British Transport Police are reportedly investigating the incident, tweeting: "Be assured, this incident is currently under investigation.

"Such behavior will never be tolerated on the railway network."
